Joshua Owens is a tech-savvy project manager with 10+ years in industry working for the biggest names in the Technical Delivery space - including British Telecom and Tata Consultancy Services.

Over the course of Joshua's career he has developed first-class Agile and fast Waterfall project management strategies, effective governance, risk and issue management and mitigation techniques.

Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Joshua Owens Consulting website and the engagement of our services. By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Joshua Owens Consulting is a consultancy based in the United Kingdom. References to "we", "us" or "our" refer to Joshua Owens Consulting.

2. Services

Joshua Owens Consulting provides project management, programme management, business analysis, resource capacity, disaster recovery and digital transformation consulting services.

The specific scope, deliverables, timelines and fees for any engagement will be agreed in writing prior to work commencing, typically via a Statement of Work (SoW). We reserve the right to decline any engagement at our discretion.

3. Fees & Payment

Our fees are as agreed in the relevant Statement of Work. Unless otherwise stated:

  • Invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date
  • Retainer engagements are invoiced at the start of each agreed period
  • Day rate and fixed-scope engagements are invoiced monthly in arrears
  • Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed upon submission of receipts

We reserve the right to charge statutory interest on overdue invoices under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

4. Client Obligations

To enable effective service delivery, you agree to:

  • Provide timely access to relevant information, personnel and systems
  • Designate an appropriate point of contact with decision-making authority
  • Review and provide feedback on deliverables within agreed timescales
  • Notify us promptly of changes to project scope or priorities
  • Ensure all information provided is accurate and complete

We accept no liability for delays caused by your failure to fulfil these obligations.

5. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • All deliverables created specifically for you become your property upon receipt of full payment
  • Pre-existing tools, frameworks and methodologies owned by Joshua Owens Consulting ("Background IP") remain our sole property
  • A non-exclusive licence is granted to use Background IP incorporated into your deliverables for internal business purposes only

6. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential all proprietary information received from the other party and not to disclose it to any third party without prior written consent, except where required by law or where the information is already publicly available.

Confidentiality obligations survive termination for a period of three (3) years.

7. IR35 & Contractor Status

Where services are provided on an outside IR35 basis, Joshua Owens Consulting operates as an independent contractor and is not an employee of the client. The client is responsible for conducting their own IR35 status determination where required. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership or agency.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability shall not exceed the total fees paid in the three months preceding the claim
  • We shall not be liable for indirect, consequential or punitive losses including loss of profits or data
  • We make no warranties beyond exercising reasonable skill and care

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement with written notice as specified in the Statement of Work. In the absence of a specified period, 30 days' written notice is required. We may terminate immediately for non-payment of undisputed invoices or materially harmful conduct. You shall pay for all services rendered up to the termination date.

10. Website Use

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and must not attempt unauthorised access, use automated scraping tools, or post unlawful or offensive content. We reserve the right to restrict access at our discretion.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of our website or services following changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
